Daniel Ahlers, M.D.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist, a medical doctor who specializes in helping people by addressing the intersection of physical, mental, and emotional suffering. I treat patients holistically with a combined approach of psychotherapy and judicious use of medication when necessary. I specialize in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy through the Center for Transformational Psychotherapy.
Although carrying a specific diagnosis is not necessary for treatment, I often work with those who have been diagnosed with conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, substance abuse, and personality disorders.
Others prefer to think beyond the medical model of traditional psychiatric diagnosis and seek my services to explore how their past affects them in the present, to learn about and practice mindfulness and meditation, to gain a psychological understanding of their spiritual experiences, to discuss dreams, to get in touch with their creativity, to heal from religious trauma, or to work through relationship struggles including polyamory and LBGTQ+ matters.
